This Summer for vacation my family and I went to Cape Cod in MA. Of course, even though I'm away I still have to run for cross country, surprisingly the cape has awesome running roads. The first night I had to run 6 miles so I headed out on the beach for the first 3.5 miles, then it started to get dark so I ran up someones private stairs, jogged around their back porch until I reach the sidewalk (good thing they weren't home, haha) Then I started to run back on the road which is in North Turo, 15 minuets away from Provence Town. When you run on sand you lean forward and put pressure on your toes, its a much bigger workout compared to the regular terrains I deal with. I thought that it would be quicker to run on the road but it actually took me longer; I got lost, It was pitch black outside, I didn't have a phone, or the address of the house, I seriously had to find it in the dark fast. After a 2 mile detour I eventually found the house and I was relieved that my mum didn't call the police. haha
